Treaty Definition: a formal agreement, especially one between nations, signed and approved by each nation
This connects to Jeffersons presidency because on Christmas Eve 1814, America and Britain signed the Treaty of Ghent, which ended the war. (p.330) Click here to see where I got this image:) This picture fits with the term treaty because it's people shaking hands and treaty means a formal agreement and most formalagreements end with a kind handshake even if the two or more people don't like each other, they want to make an understanding.
In one episode of Spongebob Square Pants Spongebob makes a treaty with Squidward so he will stop bothering him. This ties into Jeffersons Presidency beacuase he made a treaty with the British to end the war and create PEACE
The Treaty of Ghent returned things to the way they had been before the war started between the Americans and the British. (p.330)
